BIG BROTHER CANADA HAS ONLY BEEN ON TV FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS, BUT IT’S SPAWNED 7 SEASONS, OVER 200 EPISODE’S, 79 HOUSEGUESTS, 496 DAYS TOTAL DAYS SPENT IN THE HOUSE, AND 8 WINNERS, AND MILLIONS OF VIEWERS IN CANADA

2018

After a brief hiatus Big Brother Canada returns for a sixth season

  • After a 2 month hiatus it was announced in the summer of 2017 that Big Brother Canada would continue production, and was commissioned for an eighth season.
  • On Feb 8th, 2018 it was announced BBCAN6 would begin on Wednesday, March 6th continuing it’s 4 consecutive season on Global since the switch from Slice
  • The house again moved to a different studios this season, but maintained the same structure with the exterior being changed
  • On February 25th during the Celebrity Big Brother USA final. promos began airing featuring 4 potential houseguest’s
  • Just a few short days later on Feb 28th voting opens up for 2 potential houseguest’s to be voted inside the house
  • March 1st the full cast for BBCAN6 is released
  • March 5th the house was revealed on ET Canada, and was “Heaven vs Hell” theme
  • BBCAN6 premieres on March 6th
  • The gate crashers move on March 7th
  • After the Eviction live airs weekly on Fridays following each eviction on Facebook, and After Dark returns online exclusively that same year
  • On week 8 the Triple Eviction makes a comeback
  • For the first time in BBCAN history 2 females made it to the final 2, and was won by Paras Atashnak
  • This season also returned to the original 7 member Jury as seen in season 1

2019

For the first since Big Brother Canada inception “The Brick” is replaced by “Leons” as the official furniture sponsor

  • On January 21st it was announced Big Brother Canada season 7 would premiere on Wed, March 6th again on Global
  • House photos were released on Feb 25th with a spy theme, with some notable changes including a new secret room built in the house, and for the first time in BBCAN a fish tank, and a big eye entrance, and flashy diary room chair resembling some of the international versions of Big Brothers
  • Also that same day on Feb 25th a vote opened up on the BBCAN official Facebook page where you could choose the final look of the Secret Lounge
  • This season also saw a notable change in sponsors, including “The Brick” which was the official furnishing provider since season 1 was replaced by “Leons” Cast photo and bios were released on Feb 27th, and voting for 1 houseguest to receive top level clearance opened up
  • On March 5th ET Canada continued their tradition by airing an exclusive preview of the BBCAN house, and houseguest video packages
  • On March 6th BBCAN7 premieres with a twist that gave one houseguest a chance to enter the house, and spy on the other housemates moving in “Leon’s Lounge”
  • After the premiere episode voting opened up for 1 secret asset to move into the BBCAN house, and become the final houseguest
  • During the first eviction episode Cory was granted as the final houseguest & was giving a special mission from Big Brother. If She failed was she evicted, but she ended up passing and become an official houseguest
  • On Week 5 “The Blood Veto” was unleashed
  • On May 9th Dane was crowned the winner, and become the 3rd person in Big Brother history to play a ‘perfect game‘
  • On May 30th Corus Entertainment once again announced that Big Brother Canada would be back in 2020
