Big Brother Canada will return for a ninth season with host Arisa Cox also taking on a new role as executive producer of the new season!
Big Brother Canada latest season was cut short due to the covid-19 outbreak, and the provincial government shutdown.
This announcement comes following the blacklash from season 8 after Jamar was removed from the house and recent allegations from Ika Wong after she quit ET Canada.
In a statement from Arisa Cox released on the Big Brother Canada website
“We have reached a turning point in history and as the fight against racism and issues facing Black, Indigenous and people of colour around the world have been pulled into the spotlight, Big Brother Canada is seizing this moment to become a leader in the reality TV world,”
Arisa’s responsibilities now include key creative input on the show’s real-time storylines, casting and outreach, and increasing BIPOC representation across the board, among others. Global and Insight Productions are working together to implement anti-racism policies and procedures that foster a creative environment where equity, inclusion, and diversity can flourish on and off camera.

Big Brother Canada will return in Spring 2021 with Pre Production ramping up which will includea thorough review of current production practices and the development of new ones, anti-racism personnel policies, racial-equity training, and more. More details including casting will be made at a later date.
